L&D (Learning and Development) is helping people to learn new skills that can help them develop further.
From a Business perspective, it is the strategy designed to help people learn new skills so that they are motivated and productive at work. This in turn will help drive the Businesses’ performance. Learning and development encompasses a number of strategies including training, coaching and mentoring.
In terms of training, it can be designed for new starters to help them learn about the company and the industry that they will be working in. It can also be developed and customized to help existing employees in different departments up-skill and feel supported at the company that they are working for.
